FAQs for Sellers

  1. HOW CAN I SELL MY ITEMS?
We can take on your item on consignment, which we will advertise on our social channels.
We only accept brands in excellent condition, and we have strict photography guidelines that will be sent to the seller to adhere to. Alternatively, we can take your item and do this on your behalf. However, you will be required to send the items via special delivery tracked to our HQ. Should you need the stock back immediately, you will be required to cover the returned costs.
If we accept your item, we will ask for your bank details or PayPal link to send your payment through once the item is sold.
  1. HOW ARE THE PRICES DETERMINED?
We are a small business and are very selective about what we decide to sell. Consequently, we like to keep our stock turning over. When we price items, we price them to sell, meaning we price realistically and competitively. This ensures that we offer our buyers the best possible prices while ensuring we meet the consignors’ interests as well.

  1. WHY IS YOUR COMMISSION HIGHER THAN EBAY AND VESTIAIRE COLLECTIVE?
Tor’s Thrifty Store prides itself on providing an exclusive, professional, and caring service to our buyers and consignors. This means that once we accept your item on consignment, it will be authenticated, individually styled, modelled, advertised, and marketed through our social media platform. We aim to take the stress out of reselling so that you can sit back and earn the cash!
  1. MY ITEM HAS SOLD - WHEN AND HOW DO I GET PAID?
Unlike most other consignment stores, we pay our consignors 14 working days after their item has sold. This means that you do not have to wait months before being paid! Payment is contingent on the item being marked “picked up” or “delivered” to the buyer.
  1. WHAT ITEMS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We pride ourselves on being a preloved reseller. This means that we want to offer something that’s for everyone’s budget. BUT we only accept luxury items that are:
  • Genuine
  • In good condition
  1. WHICH ITEMS DO YOU NOT TAKE?
  • In poor condition
  • Items bought at sample sales
  • Overpriced consignments - we price competitively to achieve a sale

We can't accept any items with major stains or visible signs of wear or odour. Everything needs to come to us dry cleaned and proof of this or we will have it cleaned and the nominal figure deducted from the net profit you received. We say NO to fakes and therefore we won't accept any items that cannot be determined as authentic. If an item doesn't pass our authentication process the seller will be charged a £200 penalty fee.
Our decision based on the above is final and unfettered.
  1. SUBMITTING YOUR ITEMS
Please send us your enquiry with the photographs, description and the price you have in mind. Please send photographs of authentication for luxury brand bags (ID cards, store receipts or proof of purchase emails) where possible.(hello@torsthriftystore.com ).We will typically reply to you within 3-5 working days and let you know if we are interested in featuring your item in our edit. We will then ask you to ship the items to us , and we will keep them safe in our storage for up to 6 months. This amount of time will allow us to list it on our website, and most importantly, having the item at hand will allow us to ship it quickly to the buyer. We will also do everything we can to promote your items on our social channels and sell them as soon as possible.
